I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!! Oh my goodness. I have not been this excited or pleased with a collection in a LONG time. Finally.
Have you heard about the new Zoya Satins? They’re a collection of “six new, neutral nail polish colors in an ultra-wearable, low-sheen, chic satin finish. A hybrid between matte and glossy polishes, the new Zoya Satin formula provides opaque coverage and is longer lasting than traditional matte shades. The flawlessly smooth finish hides imperfections and creates a luxurious, satin finish nail look” (Press release. )
The texture is SO interesting and fresh and every single one of these colors are something I would grab every single day.
so first, let’s get into the Satin finish and compare it.
“Leah” 2 coats, no top coat. This is a purple toned taupe.
Now, at first I thought: “Hmm, is this really that different than matte?” So let’s look at “Leah” mattified:
Totally different, right?! Here is “Leah” with Essie Matte About You. It completely dulled out that bit of sheen.
And for the purpose of being thorough, here is “Leah” with HK Girl top coat.
It is a bit easier to see side by side in this collage. Left to right we have matte, satin and then glossy. So, the satin finish is totally unique!
On to the other colors…
“Rowan” 2 coats, no top coat. This is a creamy suede tuape and a really complementary mid-range brown shade. I have absolutely nothing like this.
“Brittany” 2 coats, no top coat. A pale rose mauve and one of my favorite shades ever.
“Ana” 2 coats, no top coat. Light toasted almond and such a beautiful nude! Perfect for every season, every day.
“Sage” 2 coats, no top coat. Mossy sage green that I honestly didn’t know how I felt about it in the bottle. It is definitely less of a neutral than the others, but it is so beautiful on the nail. One of those lovely surprises when it looks better on than bottled, for sure!
And last but certainly not least: “Tove” 2 coats, no top coat. A misty slays grey with blue undertones. This color is my jam.
So, I’m sorry but I’m just going to keep on raving about these. The dry time is great- not exponentially faster than your basic creme and not faster than the mattes, but it is still great! And the self-leveling is wonderful. I’m going to do a little wear test and see how they last sometime this week- so keep an eye open for that.
Zoya can be purchased at Zoya.com and also select stores like Ulta.
How do you all feel about the satin finish?
My picks: Leah, Ana and Tove.
**If it is winter where you live and you ordered any polish PLEASE wait a few hours for them to reach room temperature! You do not want to open and use a bottle right off your porch that has been sitting in the cold.**
